ELUVEITIE - enter studio, release update!

2009-09-17 - Swiss pagan horde ELUVEITIE entered the studio 2,5 weeks ago in order to record their highly anticipated new album. The successor of the acoustic / folk masterpiece "Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion" is announced to be full scale metal album again, showing the extraordinary ELUVEITIE folk metal mayhem! The album will be produced in the renowned Newsound Studios by Tommy Vetterli (mastermind of CORONER, ex-KREATOR & -VOODOO CULT), afterwards legendary sound guru Colin Richardson (BEHEMOTH, MACHINE HEAD, SLIPKNOT, AS I LAY DYING, TRIVIUM, KREATOR, SEPULTURA...) will work on the mix.
Commented vocalist Chrigel Glanzmann: "Some of you might have heard some rumours about it already... and it's true, we're heavily working on our new album! Since 2,5 weeks already we're in the studio, recording our next sword blow. Drums and most of the guitars are already nailed! And so far we are really, really satisfied. I mean REALLY! We've decided to record our upcoming album in the famous Swiss Newsound studios, owned and run by none lesser than Tommy Vetterli!

And so far it is hell of a pleasure to work with him, engineering and recording the album! It's great to profit of his enormeous experience (both, as producer/engineer, as well as musician) on one hand, but also to work and have a good time with him as a very likeable and down-to-earth guy on the other hand. And judging after how the so far recorded tracks sound, this album will definitely cleave your heads open!

The album will be mixed by the british soundforge god Colin Richardson.

And this brings me to the next thing to mention: Yes, after an acoustic release we're thoroughly up for a massive metal album again! So "Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion" kinda became the well known "calm before the storm". Some of the songs on this new album I began to write quite a long time ago, some others developed in a very short time during the last two months. All in all I think that this album becomes our most dark and severe release so far; brimmed with mystical, convoluted and partly insanely fast celtic folk melody lines, but at the same time with pure, juggernautish metal. The album's probably more ‘metal' than any other release we did so far.
